Print into Clay

Thursday morning 10.30-12.30 11 weeks  £91.20 Tutor: Louise Moore

Beginners and more advanced students in both clay and printmaking are welcome
A small additional charge is made for firing work.

What will I learn on this course?
This course will introduce you to a process for transferring drawn, collaged and photographic images onto a ceramic surface, which is then fired. We shall be working on flat slabs/tiles of clay to create personalised images. A demonstration of the process will be given to show how to transform your own images. Techniques for impressed printed decoration will also be demonstrated.

Do I need experience to take this class?
No ceramic experience is required for this course as the process for creating slabs will be taught. Basic computer skills and access to a computer outside of class time is desirable, as photographic images require basic adjustment to be ready for the printing process. A laptop will be available for use in class and tuition in creating images ready for printing.

What do I need to bring to class?

•  Photos of images that have been adjusted for the process on memory stick or CD if    you are working from your own photos.

•  Your own artwork or collected and photocopied images.

•  Apron.Notebook/sketchbookPlastic bags for storing work - small bin liners are ideal.

I look forward to seeing you at class…Louise Moore
